Integrative Ecological Agriculture for Seniors and People with Disabilities
The Golden Soil Project: Integrative Ecological Agriculture for Seniors and People with Disabilities is a one-year initiative running from January 1, 2026 to January 1, 2027 in Pililla, Rizal. The project is implemented by the Foundation for These-Abled Persons Inc. (FTI), with Life-Giving Forest e.V. (LGF) managing the partnership and facilitating funding from the Rapunzel Eine Welt Bio-Stiftung.

Building an Inclusive Organic Farming Cooperative
The project aims to establish an inclusive, intergenerational organic farming cooperative that formally brings together senior farmers and persons with disabilities (PWDs). By combining the experience of senior farmers with the skills and participation of PWDs, the initiative seeks to create sustainable livelihood opportunities through ecological agriculture.
Key Areas of Action
🌱 Expanding Organic Production
The project aims to expand the certified organic farm from 1,500 square meters to 6,000 square meters, while increasing the production of organic liquid fertilizer, known as Worm Tea.
🤝 Capacity Building
At least 50 senior farmers and PWDs will be supported through training on organic farming, composting, cooperative management, and financial literacy.
♿ Inclusive Governance
The project strengthens cooperative governance by encouraging the active participation of seniors and PWDs in leadership, decision-making, and the management of cooperative activities.
♻️ Sustainable Fertilizer Production
The construction and maintenance of vermicompost units will support organic fertilizer production while promoting environmentally responsible farming practices.
🛒 Market Access and Livelihood
The project will develop a market access strategy, including product branding and local sales channels, to connect organic produce and Worm Tea with potential markets and contribute to increased household income for cooperative members.

Growing Opportunities Through Agriculture
Through training, farm expansion, sustainable fertilizer production, inclusive governance, and market development, The Golden Soil Project aims to strengthen the role of senior farmers and PWDs in sustainable agriculture.
The initiative demonstrates how ecological farming can serve not only as a means of producing food, but also as a platform for inclusion, skills development, and sustainable livelihood creation in the community.
Together, we are cultivating healthier soil, stronger communities, and greater opportunities for seniors and persons with disabilities.
