Eco-Farm Maintenance and Preparation for Tree Planting, Copra Drier, and Charcoal Pit Projects

In 2nd Quarter 2023, LGF funded projects in SAFRA Adap, Agusan del Sur, Cateel Davao Oriental, Sta. Fe Pulak Leyte, Hindang Leyte. SAFRA plans to improve the Tree Growing Project signage and build a pathway to the Mini Forest, which will soon open to the public. A small entrance fee will be charged for maintenance. SAFRA’s man-made forest is thriving, but rattan and orchids may replace the underperforming pineapples. In Cateel, the multi-purpose building is being developed with a café and organic garden, with a fruit and vegetable stand offering produce. TAPTEFA maintains an eco-farm and is preparing for a tree planting activity. In Hindang Leyte, DOST, in collaboration with VSU, is installing a mechanical copra drier and charcoal pit to support local farmers.
