The Green Rizal: Collaborative Reforestation and Sustainable Agriculture Initiative is a partnership between the Foundation for These-Abled Persons Inc. (FTI) and Life-Giving Forest (LGF), made possible through the generous support of the Postcode Lotteries.
The initiative brings together environmental restoration and community empowerment to promote a greener, more sustainable, and resilient future for communities across Rizal Province. Green Rizal focuses on two interconnected priorities: restoring local ecosystems and strengthening sustainable livelihoods. Through reforestation, organic farming, environmental education, and community capacity building, the project supports communities in becoming active stewards of their environment.

🌱 Environmental Restoration
The project supports reforestation through the planting of native and fruit-bearing trees, contributing to biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, and greater environmental resilience.

🌾 Sustainable Agriculture
Organic nurseries and communal gardens are being promoted to strengthen food security, encourage sustainable farming practices, and create opportunities for community-based livelihoods.

🤝 Capacity Building
Community workshops provide participants with practical knowledge on organic farming, environmental protection, and disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM), helping communities develop skills that can be applied locally.

Building Inclusive Communities
A key component of Green Rizal is its commitment to inclusive participation. The project engages diverse sectors, including persons with disabilities (PWDs), youth, senior citizens, farmers, and local community leaders. By creating opportunities for different sectors to participate in environmental and agricultural activities, Green Rizal promotes a shared sense of responsibility and strengthens community collaboration.

From Learning to Action
Community workshops, including activities conducted in Tanay, Rizal, provide spaces for local representatives and community members to exchange knowledge, identify environmental concerns, and explore practical solutions. These activities help connect environmental education with action—encouraging communities to apply sustainable farming practices, participate in environmental restoration, and contribute to disaster preparedness within their communities.
Green Rizal continues to build momentum toward its goals of expanding reforestation activities, strengthening organic farming initiatives, and developing community capacity. The initiative demonstrates that environmental protection and community development can move forward together. By restoring ecosystems while creating opportunities for people to participate and develop sustainable livelihoods, the project is helping lay the foundation for a greener, more inclusive, and more resilient Rizal.

Together, we are not only planting trees—we are cultivating opportunities, strengthening communities, and growing a sustainable future for Rizal.
