March 7, 2025: Monitoring Visit to UFABM and Barangay Cuyambay Persons with Disability Association in Tanay Rizal

On March 7, 2025, we had the pleasure of conducting a monitoring visit to two impactful community projects in Tanay, Rizal: The Upland Farmer Association of Barangay Mamuyao (UFABM) and the Barangay Cuyambay Persons with Disability Association. The visit was made even more special with the presence of our funder and Life-Giving Forest (LGF) board member, Ms. Merrit Kaufer, and her friend Ms. Paula.

Our time with UFABM was both exciting and inspiring as we observed their ongoing work in tree planting initiatives. The association is committed to environmental sustainability, with projects focusing on hardwood and fruit-bearing trees, alongside a thriving nursery for seeds. The positive impact on the local environment and community was clear and continues to grow.

Similarly, the visit to the Barangay Cuyambay PWD Association highlighted the impressive efforts of individuals with disabilities in organic gardening. Their sustainable farming initiatives are empowering members of the community, fostering independence, and promoting long-term self-sufficiency.

This visit was a memorable and rewarding experience, showcasing the meaningful change that is possible through collaboration and community-driven efforts. We are grateful to Ms. Merrit Kaufer and Ms. Paula for their support, and we look forward to continuing our work with these amazing communities.
