Cateel, Davao Oriental, a multi-purpose building is surrounded by thriving trees and a vegetable garden. A DSWD-supported livelihood project plans to start a “Bugasan” by the 4th quarter.
TEPHOAI in Pulak, Sta. Fe, Leyte, elected new officers and participated in a learning trip to Mindanao, while maintaining their vegetable garden and attending a trade fair.
In Hindang, Leyte, the group harvests bananas and coconuts and plans to plant native trees.
In Sogod, Southern Leyte, tree planting began in December 2023 using SAFRA’s method. In Bontoc, 10,000 mangrove propagules were planted, with plans to focus on specific species and provide bamboo training for persons with disabilities.
In Hilongos, 30,000 mangrove propagules were planted, with continued support from local officials for the project.
